Abstract:The hardware and software structure of a microcomputer-based control system for a laser processor is studied. The hardware consists of type Z-80 microprocessor, fine interpolator, I/O interface, CNC keyboard, CRT, step motor and its power supplier. Four classes of interrupt are used for the software with each class interrupted in a constant time interval of 16 ms. The interrupting priority for each class is determined by the priority weighted circuit. Class 0 interruption is used for the on-line interpolation calculation and for decelerating and end point discrimination. The dynamic connection and I/O interface are handled by class 1 interruption. The 2 class interruptio implements the NC keyboard monitoring, translation and edition of the wock program, input of system parameters, system self-diagnosis and failure alarm. The class 3 handles the CRT display.
