Abstract: | Based on the research of some scholars at home and abroad, this paper makes some analyses and comments on the working mechanisms of metaphor from the perspectives of semantic fields, conceptual metaphor and conceptual integration. The author thinks that the complementarity and cooperation of the three theories will play a fundamental role in explaining the associative cognition of the vocabulary and meaning. So it has a great significance to foreign language teaching. |
