| Abstract: | The design of parallel algorithms by the bisection technique for solving the tridiagonal linear system of equations, which involves the parallel forward and backward sweep method, odd-even elimination, odd-even reduction, block elimination and so on, are discussed. The bisection characteristies of these methods are described and some practical parallel algorithms given. |
