| Abstract: | When the domain of solution is convex polygon or smooth convex domain ona plane, a nonconforming finite element method is used for solving the approxi-mate solution of the variational inequality of obstacle problems. The order oferror estimate obtained in this paper is same as that in case of variational equality,and so is optimal. |
