中国第四纪磁性地层学中几个问题的初步探讨

摘    要:近年来世界各国第四纪磁性地层学的研究工作发展很快,对解决一些长期争论不休难于定论的第四纪有关问题取得了显著的成效。 我国第四纪磁性地层学的工作是从七十年代初期开始的,几年来在解决一些地层的时代和古人类的年代问题方面,取得了一些成果。 下面仅就我们现在掌握的资料,初步探讨几个问题。


A PRELIMINARY DISCUSSION ON SOME PROBLEMS ABOUT THE QUATERNARY MAGNETIC STRATIGRAPHY OF CHINA

Abstract:In recent years detailed paleomagnetic determinations and investigations on the Qua- ternary stratigraphy in China have been made. It has been found that changes in the geo- magnetic polarity during the late Cenozoic era in China are in accord with the geomagnetic polarity time-scales for the past 4.5 MY given by Cox (1969). Therefore, on the basis of paleomagnetic polarity in combination with the data concerned with the Quaternary glacia- tions, stratigraphy, paleontology, transgressions, regressions etc., a simplified table of the Quaternary stratigraphy in China has been compiled. It is suggested that the lower limit of the Quaternary should be set near the boundary between the Gauss normal epoch and the Gilbert reversed epoch, i.e. about 3.5 MY ago.In addition, the loess in China presumably, began to accumulate 1.15 MY ago, i.e. between the Gilsa event and the Jaramillo event during the Matuyama reversed epoch.
