| 摘 要： | 从威廉·萨默塞特·毛姆的短篇小说集《木麻黄树》中不难看出作者的马来幻象往往将其置于后殖民批评的视角之下，一方面发掘毛姆在描绘殖民地的风景和人物的时候难以避免的殖民者的“优越感”，另一方面分析毛姆对殖民地蕴涵着的巨大能量和危险的隐约体认，力图证明毛姆对殖民主义抱有的复杂态度。正是这种复杂的态度使得毛姆描绘马来婆罗洲的作品在思想意识上超越了同时代的其他作家。

| Abstract: | From the point of post colonialism, William Somerset Maugham＇s The Casuarina Tree, one of Maugham＇s collection of short stories, is to be investigated its superiority feeling when facing to local people in Borneo and revealed its complex attitude toward colonialism. This complex attitude is the very reason that makes Maugham a unique writer back to his own time. |
