摘    要:"补缺假设"认为语言与语境知识的有机结合是语言正确流利使用的前提。这一假设对当前的大学英语教学有很深的启示意义。通过分析当前大学英语教学中的突出问题,本文深入探讨在大学英语教学实践中应该注意的几点:注重在课上课下为学生创设英语环境,不断激发学生自觉增大英文接触量的积极性,以及重视引进优秀的英文外籍教师。这些做法可以有效避免母语负迁移,以此达到真正提高学生英文水平的目的。

The Enlightenment Gained from the Compensation Hypothesis for College English Teaching
Abstract:According to the Compensation Hypothesis,the fluent and accurate use of language is predicated on the combination of language and contextual knowledge. A good deal of enlightenment can be gained from this hypothesis for college English teaching. Through looking into the problems in college English teaching at present and discussing the solutions to these problems,this paper holds that,in order to aviod the negative transfer of mother tongue and improve students'skills in English learning,special attention should be paid to create favourable conditions for English learning,to arouse students'enthusiasm for English learning and to appoint native English speakers to act as English teachers.
