The Suez Canal Crisis had initiated the Second Middle East War,and thereby the"special rela- tionship"between U.S.and British had been destroyed badly since the Second Word War.The Suez Canal Cri- sis was a turning point of Anglo-American friendship.British thought that Dulles was responsible for Anglo-A- merican relationship depredation.This paper argues that Dulles's great strategy in the Middle East was relaxing the Arabian Nationalist and discouraging British and French from using force in this area.Thus Russian ambition to expand would be effectively contained.
