The Formation and Reply of Post-Trust Societies

Trust plays an important role in maintaining the cognitive and social order of human beings.In the risk society,the traditional interpersonal trust has been unable to deal with the uncertainty of science and technology,which has produced the system trust mechanism with expert system as the core.However,under the paradigm of post-normal science and post-academic science,the truth of expert expertise and the supreme goodness of expert behavior,which are two foundations of the credibility of expert systems,are existing malfunction and anomie.Confronting uncertain risk,on the one hand,the public needs to rely on the expert system,on the other hand,the public finds that the expert system is not reliable.It impels the contemporary society to move towards“the post-trust society”.So the key to reconstructing the trust society is to establish a credible expert system that can deal with the dilemma of risk society caused mainly by technological uncertainty.
