Chinese Americans:Analysis on the Changes in the Participation in the American Political Life

Because of discriminatory policies carried on in the history of the United States,Chinese Americans had been marginalized in the political life for a long period.Thus they got used to staying away from political life.After the Second World War,with the civil rights movement,the situation of rights of ethnic groups in the United States has been greatly improved.At the end of the 70s,the P.R.C.and the United States established their diplomatic relations.Thanks to the favorable background,these hard-working people have improved their economic and social status through their efforts,and come to show their enthusiasm for the politics.Their performance in the political life is also remarkable.This will help the Chinese diaspora to safeguard its interests and have a better future in the U.S.A.At the same time,there are still some negative factors that keep Chinese Americans from better participating in the political life.To join the mainstream society,they still make a lot of efforts.
