作为一种新奇的娱乐方式,电影进入广州后十分受欢迎。到20世纪20年代,广州已涌现出不少电影院,电影市场的竞争越来越激烈。而广州的制片公司多为华侨所成立和经营,期间拍摄了不少影片。电影在反映广州社会变迁的同时也影响了广州社会的方方面面。

Early film industry and society in Guangzhou

As a novel way of entertainment, the movie was welcomed when it firstly entered into Guangzhou. By 1920s, Guangzhou had had many cinemas already. The studios of Guangzhou were mostly established and managed by overseas Chinese . And they had made many films during that time. The movie well reflected the changes of Guangzhou society and affected different sides of the society.
