This paper is a brief introduction to the newly development of the research on East Asian architecture,concerning the aspects of communication between China and Japan, and their influence in architecture; the construction of Buddhist temples and the capital cities; the history of communication between China and Korea peninsula; Chang'an, Nara and Kyongju as the outstanding examples of the cities in Chinese culture circle; the history of communication between China and Okinawa and their remains; the overview to the early overseas chinese architecture in the area of Malacca strait; and the key focus to the farther researches.
