采用定性研究和定量研究相结合的方法,对笔者所在院系基础阶段英语专业本科生进行调查研究,旨在了解他们英语阅读能力的总体现状,明确他们在英语阅读中存在的问题,以警醒并启发我们为提高英语阅读教学和英语阅读能力做好进一步的研究.

A Study of Reading Proficiency of Intermediate English Majors

This thesis is a tentative endeavor to probe into the reading proficiency of the intermediate English majors at the School of Foreign Languages,Xiaogan University,aiming to have a clear understanding of their overall English reading proficiency and to identify the problems in their English reading.To address that topic,the quantitative and qualitative approaches are employed as general framework for the whole research study,which will serve as an sufficient prelude to more coming research for the improvement of English reading teaching and English learners' reading proficiency.
