| Abstract: | s:This article studies the historical and social background in Late Qing Dynasty for the Scholars to have great interest in doiny business,with examples of several typical scholars as Wei Yuan,zheng Guanying and zhang Jian,etc.Viewing from the society and the scholars themselves of that time,the article describes the progress of the scholars' business activities of the whole country and reveals its influence on the Chinese modernization as well as the causes for its flilure failure. |
