Problem of Security and Economy of Power System in Power Market Environment

In power market environment, the profit is one of the important goals of each participant, security and economy blend into each other, the independent security index of traditional power system is no more, and it is only a measure to pursue profits used by relevant company. This paper proposes that, in power market environment, the optimal reserve capacity (in economic sense) should be determined in light of cost of reserve and load-shedding; the determination of the back-up protection configuration scheme should be based on the comparison (in economic sense) of every possible schemes.
