Land Suitability Evaluation of Xinyang Tea Planting Area Based on GIS and Principal Component Analysis

Abstract:Taking Xinyang city as the research area, GIS and principal component analysis(PCA) were used to evaluate the suitability of tea planting land.The PCA was carried out on the basis of constructing the land suitability evaluation system of tea growing area. Six main factors were extracted, including soil, precipitation, elevation and slope, vegetation and sunshine, air temperature, slope aspecte, and superimposes the factors with the help of GIS technology and divides them into suitable area, basic suitable area, basic unsuitable area and unsuitable area, combined with district and county boundary, land use and tea output. The opinions and suggestions on the development of tea industry in Xinyang city were put forward.The results are expected to provide some references for other researches on land suitability evaluation in tea growing areas.
