Abstract:The innervation of the caudal neurosecretory system of C. auratus is studied by retrograde horseradish peroxidase (HRP) technique. The neurosecretion cells. HRP-labelled neurons are located in the reticullar nucleus of the medulla (RMN), nucleus of the medial longitudinal fascicle (NMLF) and midbrain dorsal tegement mangnocellular nucleus (DTMN) located dorsal to the NMLF. furthermore, another HRP positive nucleus is also found in neurons dorsal-lateral to the RMN. Except RMN, the cells of other positive reaction nucleus are all close to the penetrating vessel of ventriculus cerebri. This situation maybe is more effective in the information feedback regulation of caudal neurosceretion.
