In China,Japanese and Korean films and TV plays are popular.There are many reasons for their success,such as the development of Sino-Japanese and Sino-Korean diplomatic relationships,and that the cultural connotations in the texts of Japanese and Korean films and TV plays are deeply rooted in the Chinese Confucianism.Regarding the imports of TV culture,there is a time gap between Japan and Korea: from the 1980s to the middle and late 1990s,Japanese TV plays occupied the leading position,while from the middle and late 1990s till now,Korean plays are dominant.The evolution of Sino-Japanese and Sino-Korean relationships,the similarity and difference between China and these two countries,constitute the political and cultural factors that explain the successful transmission of Japanese and Korean films and TV plays.
