Computer Simulation of Train Movement in Longitudinal Direction

The train movement in longitudinal direction includes the train performance and the action (relative movement) between adjacent vehicles. This article introduces four kinds of simulating models which are train performance simulation, static simulation, dynamic simulation, and quasi-dynamic simulation models. The principles, methods, suitable applications for each model, and some general hypotheses about train and track are discussed. Having studied the dynamic responses to railway profile parameters with the help of the simulation system, some fruitful achievements have been made.
