Study and Application of the Bernoulli Effect Near a Valve Orifice

Bernoulli' s effect at the high - speed region near the valve orifice stands for the flow condition near the orifice when a hydraulic valve is in the working condition . The effect is studied theoretically and experimentally in the paper and a series of pressure distribution curves and a formula for the calculation of pressure difference between the two regions are obtained . It is pointed out that the applications of the effect to hydraulic elements for the improvement of their characteristics are possible and utilizable . This is proved in the case of application in which we designed a new - type of single - stage pressure relief valve applying feed -back of Bernoulli's effect near the valve orifice . The static performence of the valve was seen to be considerablly improved .
