Abstract:The unbalanced and inadequate utilization of multi-airport systems becomes an urgent problem in the fields of transportation planning and major engineering management. Rational planning of the constituents and spatial distribution of a multi-airport system is an effective way to remove the bottleneck of the overall service quality and improve the operational efficiency. Therefore, a spatial layout model of the multi-airport system based on accessibility was established, and according to the nonlinear characteristics of the model, a fast solution method based on particle swarm optimization algorithm was proposed. Meanwhile, considering the aggregation and randomness of demand distribution, as well as the coverage scopes, construction costs and support capabilities of airports of different types, by MATLAB simulation, the paper analyzed the influence of the spatial layout of a multi-airport system on the overall service quality so as to improve the service quality of the multi-airport system. The findings of the case study show that the spatial distribution of a multi-airport system can be rapidly optimized and the overall satisfaction of service can be improved by using the spatial distribution model. In addition, the total demands and satisfaction of a multi-airport system support capability increase with the rise of the maximum total investment, but the upward trend gradually becomes slow.
