Summary A spermatozoid-attracting substance of the hermaphrodite brown algae,Pelvetia wrightii andFucus evanescens, was identified as 1, trans-3, cis-5-octatriene, respectively, by¹H-NMR and¹³C-NMR data and biological activities.Acknowledgments.
