解读《天堂》中对种族、性别的解构和重构

Deconstruction and Reconstruction of Race and Gender in Paradise

Combined with American history and culture,Toni Morrison＇s Paradise is analyzed from the perspective of deconstruction by using the text analysis approach.The binary opposition of the whites and the blacks are deconstructed by analyzing the 8-rock blacks in all-black towns-Haven and Ruby.While,the binary opposition of the men and the women are deconstructed by focusing on not only the women in all-black towns,but also those in the nearby Convent.In the end,based on Toni Morrison＇s idea of an ideal paradise,a conclusion is drawn that through the reconstruction of these two binary oppositions and the realization of the reconciliation of whites and blacks,men and women can an earthly paradise be built in which everyone can dwell regardless of their races and genders.
