| Abstract: | On the basis of the special needs of city planning, an engineering database must store both text data and graphic data. We put forward a relational presentation method for graphic data. Thus we have realized the transformation between text data and graphic data, and solved the problems about storage organization and query manipulation of graphic data. With the help of the suppor of INFORMIX RDBMS and GKS, we have given out a design of engineering databasesystem which is an extension of a relational model and developed the engineering database system on PC/XT microcomputer which is applied in city planning and is an integrated software for both text data management and graphic data management. |
