女性人格与现代民族国家想象——《新青年》的"女子问题"探考

美国学者本尼迪克特.安德森曾经特别强调民族的“想象”品质,强调先有想象,后有国家;先有想象,后有民族。在一个国家危亡的时代,当先驱者重新建构现代的民族国家时,女性问题往往成为其中的一项重要指标,由此导致的另一种结果是:女性身体解放的私人性一面往往被忽略,而其与国家利益相关的公共性一面则被凸显出来和刻意强调。《新青年》中的“女子问题”讨论,男性论者更多地申述民族自强、国家独立对于女性的要求,彰显女性意识与国家思想相交融的一面。女性成为在场的缺席者,导致女性身体解放的私人性的一面被遮蔽。

The Feminine Personality and the Imagination of Modem Nation——"The Female Question" of New Youth

The American scholar Benedick Anderson once specially emphasized the qualities of the imagination of a nation.In his opinion,imagination came first,and a country second.In other word,imagination came first,and a nation second.When pioneers newly built modern nation during a hard time,the feminine question often became an important target,where it caused another kind of result.The liberation of feminine personality was often neglected at the same time while the public interest was sedulously emphasized.In the discussion of "the female question" in New Youth,the masculine was discussed more to improve the national independence regarding the feminine request,and to manifest one side which feminine consciousness and the national thought were blended.But the female became absent,which caused the negligence of the liberation of the feminine personality.
