城市改造并不是把传统建筑抽象成符号、类型等简单地黏附在当代文化的表面,即形成＂现代与传统的结合＂.传统之所以要继承,就是因为它具有生生不息的生命力.而继承传统的最终目的是为了使建筑在实践（历史）文脉与空间（环境）文脉上具有既是当代的又是具有城市和地方个性的特点.

Combination of the Traditional Architecture and the Modern Architecture in the Urban Renewal

The urban renewal does not mean to abstract the traditional architecture into symbols and types so as to form the combination of the modern with the traditional simply by labeling them on the contemporary culture. The reason of inheriting the tradition is that the tradition possesses sustaining vigor with an ultimate goal of making the architecture to be both contemporary and characteristic of the urban tradition and its locality on the base of its historical practice and its space management.
