This author briefly summarized the main types,characteristics and application of plastic materials used for packing food,and analyzed the food contamination and the hazards to the human health caused by different kinds of plastic packing materials.In order to protect the safety of food and human health,the national rules and standard for packing food should be further improved and the Food Administration should strengthening its supervision.Besides,the enterprises should strictly control the product quality in the process of production and put the food safety in the first place.The consumers also need to distinguish rightly and use safely plastic packaged products.Only checking at each level can foods packaged in plastic reduce pollution and ensure safety,the shoppers can feel confident about their selections.
