The Influence of the Plasma Absorbing Edge on the Magneto Optic Kerr Effect in Multilayer Metallic Films

摘    要:通过分析由光诱致的电荷密度涨落对铁磁/非磁性(FM/NM)金属多层膜非磁性层中费米面附近电子的交换劈裂能的影响,对NM层金属附加磁光克尔效应的频谱特性进行了理论推导和定量计算,证明FM/NM多层膜在其NM层的等离子体吸收边附近确实可能存在磁光克尔谱的增强,并讨论了有些样品没有出现这种增强峰的原因.

Abstract:By taking into consideration the influence of the charge density fluctuation on the exchange splitting energy of the electrons near the Fermi surface in the nonmagnetic metal (NM) layer sandwiched by ferromagnetic (FM) layers, the supplementary magnetooptic Kerr spectrum near the plasma edge of the NM layer is derived and calculated. It is confirmed that around the absorbing edges, it is quite likely that the peak peak intensification of the magneto optic Kerr rotation in FM/NM multilayer ultra thin films does occur. Why such peak intensification does not appear in some other samples is also discussed.
