Abstract:The intramolecular vibrational relaxation of H_2O and H_2O_2 have been investigated with the method of moment motion equation of phase space. The results show that vibration of both H_2O and H_2O_2 exhibit fairly strong local mode phenomena at lower OH vibration excited states. For H_2O such local mode phenomena is due to the strong unharmonic of potential energy. For H_2O_2, besides unharmonic, it is further due to a complicate coupling between these two OH vibration mode. The vibrational energy can transfer quickly between these two OH vibration modes of H_2O_2 when OH vibrational quantum number is bigger than 6. The vibration exhibits apparent local mode phenomena when the number is less than 6.
