简论曾国藩的历史地位

在中国近代历史上,曾国藩是一个极具影响又颇具争议的人物。身处晚清政府走向衰落时期,他用自己的才识捍卫清王朝统治,是中国封建地主阶级的优秀人物;而血腥镇压了太平军,也是屠杀农民起义的刽子手。他是中国传统文化的全面继承者,又是传统文化的忠诚卫士。在外国列强紧逼的情况下,能看清形势,倡导洋务运动,向西方学习。曾国藩在历史上的客观作用,远远超过他的主观动机。

On Historical Position of ZENG Guo-fan

ZENG Guo-fan is a person that has strong impact and controversial in modern China's history.He lived in fading period of late Qing dynasty as outstanding person that he made use of all knowledge to defend the rule of Qing dynasty,and his deeds extended existing time of Qing dynasty about 50 years.At the same time he imposed Taiping army repression and killed peasant rebel army.He is a comprehensive successor of Chinese traditional culture and loyal guards.He also promoted western Westernization Movement and pays more attention on development of the productive forces under the huge pressure from foreign invaders that time.ZENG Guo-fan's historic objective role is more over his subjective motives.
