| Abstract: | This paper mainly discusses English vocabulary teaching in the Chinese context. At first, the author points out the importance of vocabulary teaching. Then, she discusses the current English vocabulary teaching in China, and talks about the problems of Chinese learners of English caused by making light of vocabulary teaching. The author suggests that vocabulary teaching should be strengthened and improved in our ELT field. After the discussion of three principles of English vocabulary teaching, she presents three helpful vocabulary teaching methods. The author hopes that the discussion might do good to English language teaching and learning in China. |
