历史地理学滥觞于《汉书·地理志》 ,历来称为沿革地理。 1935年始用历史地理的名称 ,2 0世纪 5 0年代以后获得较大发展 ,6 0年代初期 ,权威学者开始提出历史地理学是地理学的组成部分的论断 ,从而推动了历史自然地理和环境变迁的研究 ,在 2 0世纪的最后 2 0年中获得了许多成果 ,而其中以《中国自然地理·历史自然地理》及《中国环境史论文集》最为重要。这种研究 ,在新世纪中将继续获得发展

Historical Geography: Retrospect and Prospect

Historical geography, originating from \%Geographic Records in Chronicles of the Han Dynasty\%, has since been known as \!evolutionary geography\", and not until 1935 did the name begin to be used. It achieved comparatively great development after 1950's, and in early 1960's authoritative scholars, taking the first step to advance the thesis that historical geography is a component of geography, promoted the research of historical physical geography and environmental changes. During the last 20 years of the 20th century, it acquired a lot of achievements, the most important ones are \%Historical Physical Geography\% in \%Physical Geography of China\%, and \%Sediments of Time, Environment and Society in Chinese History\%. The research will go on to achieve its development in the new century.
