| Abstract: | Refined nonconforming element method satisfying convergence requirements is developed by using direct interpolation in terms of the Cartesian coordinates. The formulation is simpler, more general and more direct than the nonconforming isoparametric element method. An accurate quadrilatered plane element with an explicitly derived element stiffness matrix has been established. |
