Abstract:In order to investigate the mechanical properties of basalt fiber reinforced cemented soil with the curing condition of low temperature, cement and short-cut basalt fibers with different mixing ratios were put into laterite from Changchun, China. The specimens were made in two batches and cured in room temperature water. The whole experiment last three months. The curing temperature, curing time, ratios of single fiber, and lengths of fiber on the strength of cemented soil were studied based on the unconfined compressive strength tests. And then, the development law and internal mechanism of compressive strength with the factors, such as vibrating time, water content and blending ratio of mixed fiber, were discussed. The results show that fiber can still improve the unconfined compressive strength of cemented soil at 28 d under the curing condition of low temperature water. The test curve shows a broken line development and has a peak value, and the mixed fiber has similar characteristics. In addition, the compressive strength of fiber reinforced cemented soil increases with the increase of curing time and vibration time or the decrease of natural water content of soil. Fiber bundle phenomenon is found by experimental observation, which needs further study. The research results provide reference for the winter construction of basalt fiber reinforced cemented soil.
