Abstract:In order to investigate the influence of the wrinkle offset angle on the tensile properties of glass fiber composite laminates, the tensile properties of glass fiber composite test pieces with different number of fold layers were tested by referring to the ASTM D3039 standard, and based on the three-dimensional Hashin failure criterion and The progressive damage failure theory established a finite element strength prediction model, and obtained test results and numerical simulations. The effects of different fold offset angles on the stress, strain, strength and failure mode of laminates are studied. The results show that the test results and the simulation results are in good agreement, verifying that the established finite element analysis model is correct; the stress-strain curves of the test piece without offset angle and the test piece with different offset angles are linear in the initial stage However, the non-wrinkle test piece obviously can bear a large shape change, and the 90° fold offset angle test piece can bear the minimum stress and strain. Regarding the influence of different wrinkle offset angles on the tensile strength, it is found that as the wrinkle offset angle decreases, the tensile strength of the laminate also decreases; by taking the wrinkle simulation model with the wrinkle offset angle of 60° as For example, the analysis of the failure process of progressive damage shows that the final failure modes are mainly concentrated in the resin-rich areas and fiber wrinkles, which are consistent with the phenomenon of tensile experiments.
