| 摘 要： | 英汉航海习语的研究对了解不同民族的文化特点具有重要意义。英汉航海习语的文化意义呈现出个性和共性,所传递的文化信息往往不同。准确把握习语的文化内涵并进行适当的喻体转换,方能实现英汉语义和修辞最大程度上的“等值”翻译。

| Abstract: | Idioms are the essence of language.Both English sea-related idioms and Chinese ones have similarities and differences reflecting national characteristics, which create difficulties for translation. Translation of sea-related idioms is not just correspondence of literal meaning but transfer of cultural connotations. |
