Application of computer simulation to the research on two-path highway traffic capacity

Highway traffic capacity is the basic parameter of highway design and administration. The computer simulation is adopted herein to research the highway's traffic capacity. The simulation model corresponding with the real circumstances is constructed. With the aid of the computer,the highway to be researched can be simulated,and the features of traffic flow can be analyzed. Then parameters of the highway model can be amended,and the facilities of the highway and the designing plans can be optimized. Thus the highway traffic capacity can be improved, the vehicle security ensured,and the researches into the traffic capacity and traffic planning and management conducted.
