邓小平是一位天生尊重科学、相信事实的理性主义。他关心的不是抽象、思辨的东西,而是实实在在的东西;他关心的不是理论本身的自洽性,而是实践中表现出来的合理性;他关心的不是“在先”的东西,如原则、模式、纲领等等,而是“在后”的东西,如效果、结局、影响等等。邓小平通过自上而下的改革,以渐进的、非急风暴雨的方式改变了中国人几千年来一直皋行的价值观念,这是一场真正的“化革命”,其意义将随着历史的延续而愈加显现。从这个意义上讲,邓小平在中华明史上的影响是无人可比的。
