| Abstract: | Hu Xuewen describes the astonishing misery and ignoranceof the farmers in the remote rural areas sheltered by modern civilization and progress in the course of moddern advancement.It is centered on the life of peasants on the BaShang area and shows the writer's courage and sincerity of directly facing the reality and also shows his spirit of facing the darkness and feeling of sympathizing with the common people.The article mainly analyzes the nature and causes of rural sufferings in HuXue Wen's novels,such as cultural burden of rural backwardness,ignorant villagers,servility,material temptations in the process of social transition,grassroots corruption and other modern absurdness and soon. |
