| 摘 要： | 成长主题一直是西方文学所关注的焦点之一.斯宾塞的《仙后》第一卷描写了红十字骑士所经历的一系列冒险活动,透过这些冒险活动,我们可以看到红十字骑士的心智成长历程,这是一个“堕落—再生”的过程.文章以成长小说作为议题,通过分析红十字骑士的成长历程,认为斯宾塞的《仙后》可以被视为英国成长小说的先驱

| Abstract: | The theme of initiation has always been one of focuses of the western literature.The first novel of The Faerie Queene mainly talks about a series of adventures experienced by Redcrosse Knight.Through these adventures,we can see the growth of Redcrosse Knight in the aspects of spirit and soul,and this process also appears as a ＂fall-and-rise＂ pattern.Based on the topic of the initiation novel,the present paper ventures to prove that Edmund Spenser’s Faerie Queene could be regarded as a pioneer of the English initiation novels through the analysis of Redcrosse Knight’s adventures. |
