| Abstract: | Fifteen cases,of Cantonese aphasia of The Aphasia Battery in Chinese(draft,1988)were reported.Six cases were compared with Mandarin and some different features were shown in reading.Be-cause both Mandarin and Cantonese use the same Chinese character so that the written form isthe samc,but however pronunciation and the spoken form were different in Cantonese.Duringexamination,more attention should be paid to reading and writting.Three supplementalexamination items have been designed in order to find out the power of tmnslation from spo-ken form to written form in cantomese.In normal cases the power was related to educationalkvel.The patients made mistakes and the power was related to Aphasia type. It was suggestedthat this items might be used as a supplementary examination and be helpful in rehabilitationof some Cantonese aphasics. |
