The Role of Metaphorical Competence in SLA

The article focuses on the role metaphorical competence plays in second language acquisition.It contributes to the comprehension and memorization of sentential linguistic competence,the comprehension at the cross-sentential level,the fluency of output,the beauty of language in the output and the understanding of the culture of the speech community.Consequently,it is concluded that the metaphorical competence can facilitate language learning and improve language competence.
