| Abstract: | Progressive die design and manufacture are both time-consuming owing to its complicated structure. It has been found that by using the CAD/CAM approach the time required can be shortened, the working accuracy improved and the cost cut down. The strip layout is the key problem in progressive die design.This paper describes the method of computer aided design for blanking progressive dies and the design rules for strip layout. A mathematical model and a method for automatic strip layout are proposed based on the set theory and graph theory. |
