Abstract:The molecular weight and distribution of suspension HMWPVC both home hade and imported were tested by means of GPC. Compared with the similar imported resins and general PVC, the particle morphology of two home made HMWPVC was studied systematically. The results show that there are distinct differences in shape regularity, average diameter and size distribution of particles of the above four kinds of HMWPVC. All the textures of HMWPVC resins are numerous cells in shape, i. e piled up by sub-grains, agglomcrates and primary particles, and are looser as well as more porous in the interior than general PVC. Nevertheless, the particle content is different in different layers, and the degree of looseness and porosity are also different for various HMWPVC. Based an the above studies, a classification of particle morphology of HMWPVC is formulated.
