从《到十九号房间》看多丽丝·莱辛的女性意识

《到十九号房间》的女主人公苏珊是一位具有强烈的女性自我意识、渴望独立与自由的现代知识女性。但这个以男性为中心的父权制社会禁锢了她自由独立的意识,使她不可避免地陷入痛苦绝望的深渊并不断地抗争。尽管莱辛并不认为这是女权主义运动的象征,但是小说中女性意识的觉醒的确反映出作家的女权主义思想。

Feminine Consciousness in Doris Lessing's To Room Nineteen

The heroine Susan in To Room Nineteen is an intellectual female with a strong feminine self-consciousness and desire for independence and freedom.But the consciousness of freedom and independence was confined in that male-centered patriarchal society which made her inevitably in the depth of sufferings and despair with a continuous struggle.Although Lessing did not regard it as a symbol of women's liberation movement,feminine consciousness in this novel did reflect the author's feminist's thoughts.
