| Abstract: | With rich autobiographical colour of the writer, the image of the hero is a typical repentant aristocrats in Russian literature in the 19th century. This novel reposes the spiritual essence of Tolstoism in the course of repentance. The image of the hero is the artistic portray of Tolstoism and the reflection of the writer's contradictory world ideology as well. |
