江苏省土地利用初探

江苏省地处长江与淮河下游，横跨多个自然带，南北差异明显．地形以平原为主，水资源较丰富，土壤肥沃，农业生产水平较高等是其优点；但人多地少，土地利用不尽合理，污染严重，水域及滩涂资源利用不足，使人地关系紧张．采取的主要对策是：加强规划，切实保护耕地，改良土壤，充分利用水域，合理开垦滩涂，棉花生产重心北移．

The Initial Exploration on the Use of Land of Jiangsu Province

Jiangsu Province is located on the lower reaches of the Yangtze and the HuaiheRiver, traversing several physical geographic zones from North to South. The difference betweenthe North and South is obvious. its advantages are broad plains in topography, rich waterresources, fertile soil and high level of agricultural production, etc. But its disadvantages includeless land owned by each person, unsuited use of land, serious pollution and incomplete use of waterarea and seabeach resources. Those make man-land relationship more serious. The strategiesshould be taken as follows: enhancement of planning, protecting cultivated land, ameliorating thesoil, complete use of water area, suitable reclaimation of seabeach and removing the cotton basefrom the South to the North.
