民族区域自治是在国家统一领导下，在各少数民族聚居的地方实行区域自治，设立自治机关，行使自治权。民族区域自治是中国共产党根据马克思主义关于民族问题的基本原理，结合中国的实际，把民族自治和区域自治结合起来的一个创造，充分体现了各民族平等联合的原则。是中国解决民族问题的基本政策，是国家一项重要的政治制度，是建设中国特色社会主义的一个重要组成部分。

Regional Autonomy is to carry out regional autonomy in areas inhabited by the minority nationalities establish local governments under the leadership of the Central Government. The regional autonomy of minority nationalities is a creation of combining of minority nationalities' autonomy and regional autonomy of Chinese Community Party based on the Marxism's theory on issues of minority nationalities, which well reflects the principles of unification and equality of minority nationalities in China. It is the basic policy that China solves the problems of minority nationalities, and it is an important political system as well as an important component of constructing China features' of socialistic country.
