| 摘 要： | 委婉语是世界各种语言中的普遍现象，人们在交际中总有些东西不愿说得太“白”，而倾向于使用一些令人听起来更悦耳一些，更舒服一些的表达方式，从而满足交际双方的利益和心理需求。英、汉语中委婉语的表达方式主要有：以中性（或正性）词顶替忌讳词、美化、淡化、讳饰、省略不谈所避讳的事情等。

| Abstract: | Euphemism is a common phenomenon of languages in the world. People would use some expressions which sound pleasant and comfortable rather than straight expressions in their communication so as to meet their psychological demand. The main expressions of Chinese and English euphemisms include using neutral words instead of taboo words, beautifying, weakening, covering up or omitting things under taboo. |
