Consistent Madman and Independent Author--Comparative Analysis on the novels Diary of a Madman and The Story of Hair by Lu Xun

The Story of Hair by Lu Xun, published in 1920, which shares a striking resemblance with the early Diary of a Madman in narrative perspective ： with an exception of different implied readers, the narrative levels, character function and intervention comments of both are traditionally similar. And the ＂resemblance＂ and ＂difference＂ of novel forms reveal the consistency and transmutation of the writer ideas in different periods, which plays an important role for understanding Lu Xun complicated thoughts in modern litera ture history.
